Best Iced Coffee Ever
1 Filtron Cold Brew System (about $35)
12-16 ounces of your favorite ground coffee
1. Insert large coffee filter into bottom compartment. The cold brewer comes with these filters.
2. Add 12-16 ounces of your favorite ground coffee (fair trade coffee, we hope!).
3. Add cold water to the mark on the inside of the barrel. Let the grinds steep for 12-24 hours. This will make your liquid coffee concentrate.
4. Mix 1 part concentrate with 3 parts water (or 2 tablespoons concentrate per cup). One batch makes about 45 cups. You can brew another batch using the same grounds which will give you 25 more cups.
You can store the coffee concentrate in your refrigerator for up to 6 weeks, but you will love it so much it won't last that long! This cold brew technique extracts all the flavor with less of the coffee particulates, which also makes it great for people whose stomachs are sensitive to acidity.
